Aniline leather: probably many of you have never heard of it. Don’t feel guilty. Little is actually said about the specific characteristics of the materials with which accessories and clothes are made. Yet it is important to know them, so that we can make informed choices when making our purchases.
Aniline leather is the most natural and precious type of leather as it is produced starting from the best selections of the various types of raw leathers, that is, from first choice leathers, with very few defects.
Also known as sauvage leather , or in English “Aniline Leather”, aniline leather is a leather without a covering finish, and for this reason it maintains the original features of the animal’s coat.
In fact, aniline, which is not a covering dye , but a transparent dye, really highlights and enhances all the characteristics of the leather, leaving it natural and unaltered, and thus making it unique.
The finishing to which it is subjected allows to leave the natural surface of the leather unaltered and the small defects that are clearly visible: this process is able to give this type of leather a considerable added value, both from the point of view of quality and from a commercial point of view, which makes it quite valuable.
The surface of the aniline leather is then dyed with transparent dyes: the effect of transparency that is obtained in this way is very similar to what can be observed, for example, when looking at a colored wooden object. In fact, the color does not completely cover the wood, but enhances both the knots and the original grain. The same happens with the leather, where the grain – that is the most superficial part of the leather – remains clearly visible and very natural .
Aniline leather also shows imperfections on the surface which on the one hand constitute the signature of nature and on the other the guarantee that each piece of leather is unique, different from the other.
This type of leather, precisely by virtue of the characteristics indicated, is suitable for the realization:

Its use is also widespread in the production of belts and saddles for riding as well as for the saddles of motorcycles and for pieces of furniture, such as sofas, armchairs and high quality puffs. In particular, the aniline leather bags they are probably the best. Now we explain the reasons.
The sauvage leather bags, as we are used to knowing them, are therefore bags made with the most natural and top quality leathers, in which the signs that characterize the leather itself are visible.
